I can hardly believe that we are coming to the end of Term 1. It doesn’t seem like it has been two months since I watched smiling faces (and some nervous) of students and parents flooding back into the school for the first day of the school year for 2017.
When Maggie Dent came to speak at our school in 2015, she said something that has stuck with me ever since. She said that if we can get our kids excited about coming to school to play, half the battle is over in getting them into the classroom to learn. I am passionate about working alongside the teachers and parents of our school to create a safe, fun and friendly environment in which our children happily come every day to learn. In the busyness of the demands of school life, I think it is essential that we take time as a community to play together and make sure we are having a bit of fun!
There was an incredible display of parents and staff ‘playing together’ at the Swimming Carnival this year as many took to the pool for the Staff / Parent / Year 6 Novelty Relay Race. It was a lot of fun and modeled so much about participating and community to our students. Well done to the Morgan parents who won the relay. It was a fiercely tight race!
Our first Easter Eggstravaganza Fun Fair and Easter Bonnet Grand Parade is coming up on the last day of term, following the Easter assembly. Please check your inbox or the school website for further information. We are looking forward to a wonderful afternoon.
