Science Spectacular

Many of our students have developed a love of science as a result of the fantastic learning opportunities at Kalamunda Christian School.

Our Science Spectacular competition will be held again this year, commencing from 4 September.

Students from Years 1 - 6 are invited to present a science experiment to their class in week eight (between 4 – 8 September). The teachers will then select two students from each year level to participate in our Science Spectacular event on the last day of term.

The program for the Science Spectacular competition is as follows:

In class judging for those who wish to participate

  • Completing any background research
  • Constructing a hypothesis
  • Testing the hypothesis by doing an experiment
  • Drawing conclusions
  • Communicating the results

The experiment should take no longer than five minutes to present.

Clarity of speech and explanations will also be judged.

About the Science Spectacular Event

The selected student from each class will set up their experiment in the gymnasium and be prepared to demonstrate it during the day. Throughout the day all the classes will take turns in attending the Science Spectacular, where each student will present their experiment to the classes. The Challenge students will also be demonstrating experiments to the school.
