The Year 5 students recently attended their annual camp at Point Peron. The camp runs for three days and is jam packed with lots of opportunities for the students to work as a team and explore the elements of what it takes to be a leader.
The students learned how to build a raft and then tested it in the ocean. They also learned how to do prusiking and challenged themselves each time to go higher on the rope. They worked in teams to complete a low ropes course and it was great seeing them learn how to value each member in their team and listen to their ideas.
The camp concluded with a fun morning at the beach before returning to school. Upon our departure the camp school staff told us how wonderful our students had been and as teachers we were so proud of how well the Year 5 students embraced the challenges presented.
