Uniforms

School Uniform

Our school uniforms, formal and sport, are about belonging. They are worn with dignity and are the external picture of uniting our students as members of the Kalamunda Christian School community. We wear our uniforms to maintain and enhance the positive image of our school.

Our school logo identifies us as unique from our wider community and symbolises our purpose. The leaf represents the forest area in which we are located. The silver represents our pursuit of quality in all aspects of our lives and the cross in the leaf represents our purpose, centred on Christ’s plan for our lives.

Operational Policy

In the interests of maintaining a standard that avoids competitiveness among students or a decline in the general appearance of the uniform, it is necessary that specific details are mentioned and implemented.

Teachers are to supervise the appropriate wearing of the uniform. In a general sense, teachers will encourage, and at times may reward those students who consistently take pride in the wearing of their uniform.

If a student is wearing inappropriate items, or wearing the uniform in an incorrect manner, the teacher will bring this to the attention of the student. Should other staff notice the uniform not being worn correctly, they should inform the class teacher so that they can follow up the matter appropriately.

The teacher should also issue a Uniform Notice to the student, or if appropriate, to the student’s parents, so that they can take reasonable action to address the matter.

If a student makes a habit of wearing inappropriate uniform, the class teacher is to notify the Deputy Principal of the nature of the continued infringement. The Deputy Principal will then follow through these matters in an appropriate way.

All students are required to wear the Kalamunda Christian School uniform, as agreed to in the conditions of enrolment by both parent and student. The specifics of this requirement are:
