At Kalamunda Christian School we value all areas of learning and hope to provide students with a balanced education. Research demonstrates that learning an instrument can make significant differences to children’s abilities related to learning, memory and social interactions.
In order to create an equitable opportunity for our students to explore an interest in music Kalamunda Christian School provides free music scholarships for all Year 4 students. This scholarship provides for the tutoring costs associated with the music program, including small group tutorials and band ensemble. Most instruments will be available for parents to hire through the school committee.
To fully inform you about the opportunities available to your child, we would like to invite you to the Music Orientation for the Year 4’s in 2019. Parents and students will be presented with an overview of the scholarship program for 2019. There will be demonstrations of each of the musical instruments and music staff will be available to answer any questions.
Year 4 students in 2019 will have the option to learn piano, flute, clarinet, bass guitar, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, baritone or percussion, violin, viola or cello.
