As the school year of 2019 is quickly passing by, preparation is already underway for the 2020 musical year.
In order to confirm numbers for instruments and tutors required for next year, registrations for next year’s music program are requested by Monday 11th November.
Note: If your child has been part of the instrumental program in 2019 but no longer wishes to continue, please advise us by email by the above date to anne.wheat@kalamundacs.wa.edu.au.
At Kalamunda Christian School we value all areas of learning and hope to provide students with a balanced education. Research shows that playing music can make significant differences to children’s ability related to learning, memory and social interactions, improve both fine and large motor coordination and support the development of language patterns, vocabulary and articulation.
We are pleased to be able to offer the choice of the following instrumental lessons in 2020:
Flute* | Clarinet* | Saxophone* | Percussion* |
Trumpet* | Trombone* | Bass Guitar* | Baritone Horn |
Piano # | Violin | Viola | Cello |
# Please note that piano lessons are only offered as individual lessons (not group).
* The instruments marked with a * above will be available to hire from the school.
The cost for instrumental lessons for Years 5 and 6 are as follows. These are also the costs for piano and bass guitar students of any year group.
Arrangement | Quarterly Fee | Annual Fee |
Group Lessons | $147.50 | $590.00 |
Individual Lessons | $200.00 | $800.00 |
Students in the music program may use their own instrument, or may hire one from Kalamunda Christian School for 2020. The rental cost for the instruments marked with a * above is $75 per term. If your child would like to hire an instrument but the instrument is not available to hire from the school, tutors can suggest appropriate venues.
If you would like to enrol your Year 5 or 6 child in the music program and/or rent an instrument from the school for 2020, please register your child by Monday 11th November. If you wish to rent an instrument we will provide you with the rental forms required.
Note: If your child will be in Year 4 in 2020 and have returned your music scholarship application form there is no need to register them above, only a rental form if required.
Please feel free to contact Anne Wheat at anne.wheat@kalamundacs.wa.edu.au if you have any queries about the music program.
