Parent Presentation on Social and Emotional Learning

At Kalamunda Christian School we believe strongly in developing the whole child.Growing the social and emotional skills of children is paramount to them feeling happy and successful as they journey through school.

We have implemented a number of new well-being initiatives this year to supplement what we have done in the past. The school would like to invite you to a parent presentation to give information about why Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is important, and to share information about the new program titled ‘Second Step’ that we are launching in Term 2 in Years 1 to 6.

We have invited the WA Second Step Program Consultant – Karen Parrott, to come and provide us with this information.

Karen will walk us through the importance of SEL, how SEL affects student learning and how parents can support this area of growth and development at home. There will also be an opportunity to ask general questions at the end of the presentation.
